A couple of weeks ago I entered a few of my prints into the Victorian AIPP state awards. Each year I enter to get feedback on my work as well as seeing all the wonderful work that everyone has entered. It’s a geat opportunity to learn more about what I need to work on to improve my photography and I chance to catch up with friends. I entered 4 prints into the portrait category and was delighted to receive 1 Silver and 3 Silver with Distinction awards!
However, this year I was completely taken aback at winning both 2017 AIPP VIC Portrait Professional Photographer of the Year and the overall 2017 AIPP Victorian Epson Professional Photographer of the Year!!! The highest award in the state and a truly great honour. It is something that I had hoped that I would one day achieve, but never imagined that it would be so soon.
It reminded me of just how grateful I am for the people who have helped me in my journey. I feel blessed and deeply humbled to have the support of some special people who I love and respect so greatly.
So now, it’s back to the important stuff… making women feel special, valued and beautiful and creating photographs of them that they can treasure for generations to come.
